BigStuf takes a big team, each owning important pieces of each piece of camp, and the interns and summer staff are crucial. During camp, they do everything from running cameras and creative during Session to acting as referees during Rec Time to running the store and everything in between.
In addition to Interns and Summer Staff, BigStuf Campus Ambassadors play a role in year round outreach and events.

The BigStuf Internship is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced! Our mission is to develop college-aged students into confident and capable leaders through providing opportunities for serving, intentional community, and discipleship.
If you’re considering applying to be a BigStuf Summer Camp Intern, there are three things you need to know:
You will SERVE.
The main role of our BigStuf Interns is to serve every student, leader, speaker, musician and hotel worker that walks through our doors. In order to serve well, interns learn everything it takes to make BigStuf possible. From being camera operators and stage managers to store cashiers, referees, videographers and support to registration specialists, interns will get the chance to experience it all. By trying out each role at camp, interns are pulled out of their comfort zones and given the chance to discover strengths they never knew they had.
You will GROW.
At BigStuf, we place an incredible amount of value on investing in our team–including each and every intern. While serving, interns will sit under the wisdom and training of some of the most influential leaders in ministry today. Interns walk away with a better understanding of how they are uniquely wired and will develop the skills to lead well when they head back to their colleges and communities.

The main role of our BigStuf Campus Ambassador is to serve every student on their campus and churches in their community. We want to continue to grow our past summer interns on their own turf. This person will have the opportunity to share BigStuf with local churches, clubs and groups on campus and help BigStuf with events in their area.
This team will work closely together to learn tips on public speaking, supporting Intern Director in campus recruiting, and assist our leader relations team in providing the best customer service for our BigStuf family. You will also have a direct impact on what’s next for BigStuf.

In order to serve in the summer of 2020, all applicants must have graduated high school by June of 2019 and/or have completed one year of college by June 1, 2020. All applicants also must be 18 years or older as of June 1, 2020.
The internship application will be posted in the coming months and should be completed by December 31, 2019.
It is not required that applicants have previous experience in any field in order to apply. BigStuf will train interns and summer staff on how to do everything needed for camp.
Each applicant must fill out the application in its entirety, submit three referrals and create a 3-5 minute video. After receiving a completed application, we will determine if we would like to move forward with a Skype interview. Those selected for an interview will be interviewed by our Intern Director and two Intern Leads. A second call for follow-up questions may occur.
Details for the 2020 Internship are still being determined. Typically, we will announce the summer intern team at the beginning of February.
There are typically between 16 and 20 interns each summer.
The dates for the 2020 Internship are still being determined. For reference, the 2018 internship started May 21, 2018 and ended on August 2, 2018.
The BigStuf offices are located in Alpharetta, GA. The team will meet here for a week of training before heading to Panama City Beach, FL with the staff for the rest of the summer. Once the summer is over, we will come back to Alpharetta for a few days before the interns will be released to head home.
We are willing to work with you to complete any paperwork needed to ensure that you get college credit for the internship.
We require each intern to raise $3,000 (amount subject to change) in order to cover the cost of the internship program as a whole. This amount covers training before camp, travel costs to/from Atlanta to Panama City Beach, meals and lodging for the entire summer and any planned activities before, during and after summer camps. This fundraising process also helps build a support team of people back home who are encouraging and praying for the individual.
The $3,000 support that interns raise will cover all of the basic expenses over the summer as stated above. The individual will pay for anything above and beyond those costs.
No! Each of our churches bring their own chaperones and leaders who are responsible for their students. The role of interns is to help with all the jobs that make camp happen. Interns are encouraged to interact with students, hang out with them on the beach, eat meals with them and assist in leading small groups, but for the most part, the one-on-one development of students during the week is handled by the individual churches.
Interns will be doing a wide variety of tasks. During sessions they will be operating cameras, stage managing, running ProPresenter or ProVideoPlayer, managing the green room or helping at the info table. When not in session, they will be working in the store or Do BigStuf area, refereeing basketball or volleyball tournaments, shooting footage for highlight videos, keeping water stashed at the recreation areas and having fun with over a thousand different students each week. Each intern will also own and be responsible for one area of camp, e.g. store managers, green room managers, recreation managers, etc.
There are occasional weekends off between camps and a longer break taken over the Fourth of July.
Depending on the length and timing of the scheduling conflict, BigStuf will try to work with accepted interns to accommodate their schedule. But if applicants cannot commit to a whole summer with us, it’s best to wait and apply for the following summer.
