This summer at BigStuf, we explored the idea of The Flip Side — how God often works in ways we don’t expect, and how the parts of our story we struggle with can actually lead to hope, peace, and purpose.
But the Flip Side wasn’t just a stage theme. It was something we saw play out every day in real time.
“You get to make connections with people all over the country”
One student shared, “There are so many nice people that you get to meet and make connections with people all over the country.”
BigStuf brings together thousands of students each week, and somehow — it still feels personal. Whether it’s in your small group, in the ocean during free time, or during those late-night dorm convos, real friendships happen here. The kind that remind you you’re not alone in what you’re walking through.
“It was a really cool way to connect with God that I hadn’t had before”
One former student shared how attending BigStuf was the first time their faith clicked. “It was fun to get taken out of where you live and be put into a new environment.”
That student? They came back as an intern. Now, they’re a leader. That’s the Flip Side. God works through unexpected moments — and sometimes, one week at camp can flip everything.
“I love seeing kids grow closer to God, each other, and their leaders”
That’s what one of our returning leaders said about this summer — and that’s exactly what the Flip Side looks like: not just growing in faith personally, but seeing it happen in the people around you.
The messages from this year’s camp hit deep:
- The flipside of your story is a better story.
- The flipside of your failure is the goodness of God.
- The flipside of your family is the perfect place for grace.
- The flipside of your fire is friendship that is real.
- The flipside of your doubt is a God who offers you peace.

And it wasn’t just for students — leaders got poured into too.
Every morning, leaders gathered for Leader Labs — practical sessions designed to encourage and equip them for ministry back home. Because at BigStuf, we believe camp should serve everyone who shows up.
