the BigStuf summer staff team allows for previous BigStuf interns to serve our camps at a higher capacity level. this team works in areas of production, video, photography, store, interns and so much more. they assist full-time staff in making camps run smoothly. you can learn more about our openings through the tabs at the top.

camp videographer

reports to: creative director

Overview: The Camp Videographer is responsible for capturing the experience of camp through video on a daily basis. This video will be used for projects such as weekly highlight videos, Instagram videos, and overall b-roll footage. There are 2 openings for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Weekly Highlight Video:
    • During load in & Camp 1, assist video production company to create a Weekly Highlight Video Template.
    • Use the template created as an outline for the rest of the summer. Shoot unique footage each camp to replicate in the template.
    • Highlight videos are ready to play by Day 4-night sessions.
    • Post highlight videos on BigStuf YouTube page directly after the end of each camp. 
  • B-Roll Footage for Promo Videos:
    • While getting shots for the highlight videos, pull aside favorite footage that can be used for promo videos later. We will be able to give these shots to a video production company to use for promo videos. 
  • Intern Highlight Video:
    • Capture footage of interns during training and throughout the summer to create a highlight video to present to them at the end of the summer.
    • The intention of this video is to be a heart-felt representation of their time together as a team during the summer. 
  • Intern Promo Video:
    • The intention of this video is to represent our intern program to interested intern applicants.
    • Capture b-roll footage of interns during training and throughout the summer, as well as several individual interview videos with current interns. 
  • Instagram Videos:
    • Create 30 short Instagram Videos to use on social media throughout the year.
    • Videos will show a variety of camp activities (Day 1 arrival, worship, sessions, rec time, etc.) 
  • Daily Highlight Videos:
    • Aid in the training of interns on capturing and editing B-roll footage.
    • Train intern editors (specialty job) on creating the daily videos.
    • Create a shot list for daily B-roll footage. 
  • Maintain and organize the editing suite, company equipment, and software. 

Line of Authority:

  • Can decide when interns can/cannot leave their duties in the editing suite 
  • Can delegate tasks that need to be accomplished for video purposes 
  • Can ensure that interns are completing tasks well

intern lead

reports to: intern director

Overview: Intern Leads are responsible for developing the BigStuf interns into confident and capable leaders by equipping them with leadership skills through serving, intentional community, and discipleship. There are 2 openings for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in interviewing potential interns 
  • Assist in training all incoming interns on BigStuf culture, values, code of conduct and intern roles 
  • Assist in overseeing intern arrival week schedule 
  • Help to implement leadership development content for Internship Program during camp months 
  • Manage intern schedules for daily job assignments 
  • Male Intern Lead will have regular one-on-one’s with male interns, will lead a male intern small group, must compete a mid-summer intern evaluation personally with each female intern 
  • Intern Leads are responsible for leading meetings (morning or night) for interns 

Line of Authority:

  • The Intern Director makes ultimate decisions for situations that affect the BigStuf Internship Program 
  • Can delegate tasks for intern that need to be accomplished for the overall benefit of BigStuf 
  • Can ensure that interns are completing tasks well and getting to their job on time 
  • Have the authority to address conflict between interns to ensure the relational well-being of the team

producer

reports to: production manager

Overview: The Producer role will lead the overall production elements and work alongside all key production personnel to make sure that all production elements are in place and executed. There is 1 opening for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Production team and care for the whole team throughout BigStuf camps.
  • Call sessions and lead rehearsals for production elements that need a run through.
  • Make sure production team is on time and production meetings, doors open, and sessions run on time.
  • Meet with Speakers and Host to ensure on content is in place and all stage needs have been run through with production team.
  • Meet with Stage Managers and Production Associate to run through each session and what is needed for each session.
  • Work closely with the Camp Director and Music Director on changes to program.
  • Work alongside Production Manager and Technical Director.

Line of Authority:

  • The BigStuf Production staff makes the ultimate decisions for the situations that affect the production of BigStuf. 
  • Can train, and delegate assigned tasks to interns during Stage Managing. 
  • Owns the organization of all props, games backstage and work with interns to make sure backstage is clean and organized.

production associate

reports to: production manager 

Overview: The Production Associate role supports the Producer in the responsibilities for camp production to ensure that all content and session elements are planned and implemented. There is 1 opening for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for hosts and speakers, and to gather all content needed for speakers and hosts.
  • Input of all speaker and host content.
  • Gather all needs (Props) for hosting segments. 
  • Make sure giveaways are ready for each session for hosts.
  • Make Emcee cards for each session and confirm announcements with Producer and Host. 
  • Work with Producer to make sure all information in planning center is correct.
  • Print Production sheets for all Production meetings. 
  • Run graphics for all sessions and help train interns on how to run each station.
  • Work alongside of Technical Manager to troubleshoot any production needs when they arise.

  • The BigStuf Production staff makes the ultimate decisions for the situations that affect the production of BigStuf. 
  • Can train, and delegate assigned tasks to interns during Stage Managing.

registration assistant

reports to: leader relations coordinator

Overview: The Registration Assistant helps support all registration and leader environments/activities during camp. There is 1 opening for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing and maintain leader environments (Leader Lab, Leader Lounge, Lost & Found, and Info Table).
  • Assist Leader Relations Coordinator with any needed tasks.
  • Assist with set up of Leader Lab including BigStuf production equipment and Orange stage, props, etc.
  • Assist with set up of Leader Lounge
  • Assist with training of Leader Lab interns
  • Greet youth leaders before and during Check-In
  • Assist with Day 1 preparation (oversee bags, salvation kits, wristbands)
  • Oversee room key pick-up process during Check-In; lead Key Interns and troubleshoot rooming-related issues during Check-In.
  • Check-In any last minute or late groups.
  • Lead New Leader Tour on Day 1 of each camp
  • Assist with set up and production of Day 1 Leader Meeting
  • Manage and respond to mass leader texts during camp
  • Assist Orange team with Leader Lab sessions
  • Assist with troubleshooting in Leader Lab
  • Open and close Leader Lounge
  • Oversee Leader Lounge intern (cleanliness, organization, equipment (i.e. TV), stock of supplies, and overall atmosphere)
  • Assist with management of Info Table during assigned sessions by answering leaders’ and students’ questions and addressing issues (i.e. related to wristbands, simple first aid, etc.)
  • Collect and organize results of youth leader surveys
  • Oversee Lost & Found Items, respond to Lost & Found requests, gather contact information, mail Lost & Found Items, and charge accounts for shipping costs.
  • Manage additional responsibilities that support the ministry of BigStuf; remain flexible as these may be assigned randomly.

Line of Authority:

  • The Leader Relations Coordinator makes the ultimate decisions for situations that affect church group/youth leader interactions with BigStuf.
  • Can delegate tasks that need to be accomplished for the overall benefit of leaders and leader environments and ensure that tasks are completed well
  • Can assist Leader Relations Coordinator with resolving leader complaints and concerns

Results Measurement:

  • Leaders feel welcomed and cared for throughout their camp experience
  • Leader environments are maintained, organized, clean, and prepared for all activities including Leader Lab sessions and Day 1 Leader Meeting
  • Leader Lab, Leader Lounge, and Registration interns have high level of understanding and execution of tasks
  • Majority of feedback from leaders is positive

assistant store manager

reports to: store manager

Overview: The Assistant Store Manager assists in oversight and management of the of the BigStuf store. There are 2 openings for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates daily Intern job rotation for the store.
  • On call for shipping & receiving packages pertaining to the store during camp. 
  • Pulls giveaway items at the start of each camp, and is in communication with producer/stage managers to make sure they are ready for sessions.
  • Aids in the training of interns on LightSpeed and store procedures. 
  • Helps in managing/organizing our inventory and is aware of what we have in stock. 
  • Helps count new product received and add it into Lightspeed.
  • Helps keep displays organized in the store. 
  • Helps in the opening and closing of the store, responsible for making sure all opening and closing tasks get done daily. 
  • Counts money after store closing, with the store interns.
  • Deposits money from store sales.
  • Should be aware of products that are low, and should be communicating that to the store manager, but is not responsible for the reordering of product.
  • Fulfills online orders during camp. 

Line of Authority:

  • The Store Manager makes the ultimate decisions for situations that affect the BigStuf Store.
  • Can decide when interns can/cannot leave their duties in the store
  • Can delegate tasks that need to be accomplished for the overall benefit of the store
  • Can ensure that interns are completing tasks well and getting to their job on time
  • Can determine what to pull for last minute giveaways

photographer

reports to: digital creative

Overview: The Photographer and Social Media Assistant must be proficient in Lightroom, using a range of lenses and can shoot in both natural and stage lighting. Experience in After Effects and videography/video editing is a plus. There is 1 opening for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture daily sessions and its contents i.e. hosts, speakers, musicians, games, students, worship etc.
  • Edit above content with given presets.
  • Work with the Production Associate to collect posts from students to using during hosting (location?).
  • Shoot and edit content of BigStuf Interns to send to Intern Coordinator for @bigstuf_interns.
  • Share Instagram Story posting responsibility with Videographer and Digital Creative.
  • Share Instagram/Twitter replies/commentary with Digital Creative. 

Line of Authority:

  • Will report to Digital Creative on all ventures.

videographer

reports to: digital creative

Overview: The Videographer and Social Media Assistant must be proficient in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, using a range of lenses and can shoot in both natural and stage lighting. Experience in After Effects and photography/photo editing is a plus. There is 1 opening for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture daily sessions and it’s contents i.e. hosts, speakers, musicians, games, students, worship etc.
  • Edit above content with given presets.
  • Work with the Production Associate to collect posts from students to using during hosting (location?).
  • Share Instagram Story posting responsibility with Photographer and Digital Creative.
  • Create 5-30 sec. Videos to post to IG Story and Grid.
  • Share Instagram/Twitter replies/commentary with Digital Creative. 

Line of Authority:

  • Will report to Digital Creative on all ventures.

technical assistant

reports to: technical manager

Overview: The goal of this team is to handle 70%-80% of the problems before escalating the issue to the technical manager. There is 1 opening for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Wifi and system support
  • Payment processing support and connection
  • Gather information & analyze the issue
  • Triage issues that arise
  • Call staff for urgent issues
  • Monitoring & responding to technical outages
  • Escalation of issues to Technical Manager
  • Note: Common Answers or resolutions are available via a knowledge base, FAQs
    or step-by-step guides

Capabilities:

  • Technical Roll at this level have a basic understanding of computers and devices and may not always be competent to solve complex issues.
